You don't have to ask anyone to donate
their kidney

Just ask them to learn. A Kidney Convo does the rest — a free, no-pressure event where your community can get real information about living donation and decide for themselves.

How it works

Three things that move people curious to considering

Living donors rarely come from a single ask. They come from repeated, low-pressure exposure — your story, an invitation to learn, and a safe space to ask real questions. This is how you build that environment.

01
Tell your story

A personal page — your microsite — becomes the link you share everywhere. Your story in your words.

02
Invite, don't ask

"Will you come learn with me?" is all you need to say. The Convo handles the education and the conversation.

03
Expand your reach

Every person who hears your story can become someone who shares it. One invite becomes many.

The roadmap

Your first 8 weeks

One action per week. Each step builds on the last — and by week eight, you'll have a network that knows your story and knows how to help.

Week

1

Set up your microsite

Create a simple personal page that tells your story. This becomes the link you share everywhere — the single place people can learn about you and what you need.

Week

2

Make your first invitation

Pick one person and reach out personally. You don't have to ask them to donate — just invite them to learn alongside you. Invite them to A Kidney Convo. Say: "I'm starting the process of looking for a living kidney donor — will you come learn with me?"

Week

3

Share your first social post

Post a health update, a family moment, or something you're grateful for. Keep it real — and end every post with a links to the Kidney Convo and your Microsite so curious people have somehwere to go to learn more.

Week

4

Record a short video

30–60 seconds of you talking — why you're sharing, what you're hoping for — has more impact than a written post. It doesn't need to be perfect. Remember, you're not asking for a kidney, you're simply asking that the people who care about you come learn at A Kidney Convo.

Week

5

Share another post answering a common donation question

Many potential donors have real fears: Will I need that kidney someday? What if a family member needs one? Can I afford to take time off? What they may not know is that programs exist to address every one of these barriers. Use social media to dispel these myths — and invite them to A Kidney Convo to hear directly from real donors who had the same questions.

Week

6

Ask someone to share for you

Invite a family member or friend to post or forward your story to their network. When they share, ask them to include the invitation to the Kidney Convo. Have them invite their network to A Kidney Convo on your behalf — your reach multiplies when others carry the message.

Week

7

Engage a community group

A faith community, a workplace team, a club. One group can expose your story to dozens of people who've never heard it. Ask the group to attend A Kidney Convo together — a shared event creates shared momentum.

Week

8

Share a gratitude post

Over these 8 weeks, people may have engaged with your posts, reached out, attended A Kidney Convo, or shared your story. Take a moment to thank them publicly — and if responses are still slow, your care team is always worth recognizing.
